Put the card in my PCI-E 1 slot, and installed the drivers from the installation disc, but nothing shows up in Device Manager and I have no wireless option in my Network Connections settings.

Turn off your computer and then open the case, plug out the network adapter and then after cleaning it plug in again and then check it ( in PC its easier but if you have Laptop then it could take some time but not more then 5 minutes ).
