For those who have their hands on the newest of NETGEAR's open platform routers, the WNR3500Lv2, you're in for a treat--Tomato firmware guru Shibby has already put together a full-featured build to enjoy, that expands upon builds already available for the original WNR3500L. In a location that is not accessible by ethernet cable, I have an older Sony blu-ray player that needs a LAN connection to stream content. I would like to use my older Netgear WNR3500L as a bridge between the existing wireless network and the blu-ray player, but can't seem to figure out the appropriate settings for this. Re: Reset Password on my Router WNR3500L There's a small hole in the back of the router right above the USB port. You insert a paperclip into that hole for 5 seconds to reset the router. I have plugged the Netgear WNR3500 into Powerline 2 thinking I can use it to extend the network to those two rooms. This sort of works but what actually happens is that I create a new network called Netgear which has access to the internet through the Comtrend router but is independent of the default Comtrend wireless network.
